How to use the GST return due dates
- Choose how you file: monthly, quarterly (QRMP) or composition.
- Select your state – it decides whether quarterly GSTR-3B is due on the 22nd or 24th.
- See your next due dates, then check the full table below.
- Before filing, confirm the date on the GST portal in case it has been extended.
Monthly or quarterly?
Businesses with an annual turnover up to ₹5 crore can choose the QRMP scheme: they file GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B every quarter but pay tax every month (PMT-06 for the first two months). Others file both returns every month.
What happens if you file late?
Late filing attracts a late fee for each day of delay and interest on any tax paid late. A pending GSTR-3B also blocks your GSTR-1 for the next period, and your buyers may not get input tax credit on time, so it can cost you customers as well. Check the current late fee and interest on the GST portal.
