QR code scanner from image
Got a QR code as a WhatsApp image or screenshot? Read it here without a second phone. See exactly where it leads, or who a UPI QR pays, before you act on it.
The result appears here. The image is read on your device and not uploaded.
Runs in your browser. Nothing you enter is sent to us or stored on our server.
How to use the QR code scanner from image
- Choose the image, drag it into the box, or copy a screenshot and press Ctrl+V (Cmd+V on Mac).
- Wait a moment while the QR code is read on your device.
- Check the result: links show the website address, UPI codes show payee name, UPI ID and amount.
- Copy the text, or open the link in a new tab only if you trust it.
Check before you pay
A UPI QR code shows who will receive the money. Before paying a QR you got on WhatsApp or found stuck on a wall, read the payee name and UPI ID here and make sure they match who you mean to pay. Remember: you never need to scan a QR code or enter your UPI PIN to receive money.
Questions people ask
Is the image uploaded?
No. The image is read inside your browser and never leaves your device.
Why can’t it find the QR code?
The image may be blurry, too small, cut off, or have strong glare. Use a sharper photo with the whole code in view and some white space around it, or crop the image around the QR code.
Can it read barcodes too?
This tool reads QR codes only. For product barcodes (EAN, CODE128) use the barcode scanner, which also scans from a photo.
Can it read the QR code on a GST invoice?
Yes, it will show the text stored in it. The QR code on an e-invoice is a signed data block, so it looks like a long string of characters; checking it needs the government’s e-invoice verification app.
