What should a salary slip show?
The employer's name, the employee's name, ID and designation, the month, days paid, each earning (basic, HRA, allowances), each deduction (PF, ESI, professional tax, TDS), gross pay, total deductions and net pay. Employees use it as proof of income for loans, rent and visa applications.
How are paid days handled?
Paid days are the days in the month minus unpaid leave (loss of pay). If you tick the box, every earning is reduced in the same proportion, for example 28 paid days in a 30-day month gives 28/30 of each amount. Deductions are used exactly as you enter them.
Questions people ask
How is PF calculated?
Employee PF is usually 12% of basic pay plus dearness allowance; many employers apply it on a wage ceiling of ₹15,000 a month. Check the rules that apply to your establishment and enter the amount you actually deduct.
Does every employee have ESI and professional tax?
No. ESI applies only to employees below the wage limit in establishments covered by ESI, and professional tax depends on the state and the salary. Leave a deduction at 0 and it will not be printed.
Is this salary slip accepted by banks?
Banks and landlords usually accept a salary slip on the company's letterhead with a signature or stamp, often together with bank statements showing the salary credit.
Is employee data uploaded anywhere?
No. The slip is built in your browser. Company details and the salary structure are remembered on this device only, so next month you just change the month and days.
