How to record a payment made (Payment Out) in Vyapar
When you pay a supplier for an earlier purchase, record it as Payment-Out. It reduces what you owe them, takes the money out of cash or bank, and creates a payment record you can share.

Before you start
- The supplier saved as a party with a balance to pay.
1Open Purchase & Expense > Payment-Out
In the sidebar click Purchase & Expense, then the + next to Payment-Out.
2Choose the supplier
Click Party and pick the supplier. Amounts you owe show in red.
3Check balance and payment type
Vyapar shows the supplier's balance (BAL). Choose the Payment Type: Cash, Cheque or a bank account.
4Enter the amount paid
Type the amount in Paid. The receipt number and date are filled automatically.
5Click Save
Click Save. The supplier's balance goes down by the amount paid, and the payment appears in Cash & Bank and the party's statement.
Good to know
- Pay part of a purchase bill directly on the bill with the Paid box, or later with Payment-Out.
- Choose Cheque to track cheques until they clear.
- Link payments to specific purchase bills to see which bills are fully paid.
Questions people ask
How do I record a payment to a supplier in Vyapar?
Go to Purchase & Expense > Payment-Out, choose the supplier, enter the amount and payment type, and click Save.
Does Payment-Out reduce the supplier balance?
Yes. The amount is subtracted from what you owe the supplier.
Can I pay by bank transfer?
Yes. Add your bank account in Cash & Bank and choose it as the Payment Type.
