How to generate the GSTR-1 report in Vyapar

GSTR-1 reports your outward supplies (sales) to the GST portal every month or quarter. Vyapar prepares the data from your invoices and credit notes, so you or your CA only need to check and upload it.

Before you start

Your GSTIN added in the business profile.
Customers' GSTINs added for B2B invoices.

1Open Reports > GSTR 1

Click Reports, scroll to GST reports and click GSTR 1.

2Choose the months

Set From Month/Year and To Month/Year to the return period. The icons at the top right export the report (JSON for the GST portal, Excel) or print it.

3Check B2B invoices

The Sale tab lists invoices to registered customers with GSTIN/UIN, party name, invoice number, date, value, tax rate, cess and taxable value. Invoices without GST do not appear here.

4Check credit notes

Open the Sale Return tab to see credit notes issued in the period. They reduce your output tax.

Good to know

Fix a wrong GSTIN in the party and the report updates automatically.
Tick Consider non-tax as exempted to report non-GST items as exempt supplies.
File GSTR-1 by the 11th of the next month (monthly filers) or the 13th after the quarter (QRMP).

Can Vyapar file GSTR-1 directly?

Vyapar prepares the data and exports it (JSON/Excel). Upload it on the GST portal or give it to your CA.

Why is an invoice missing from GSTR-1?

Invoices without GST, or outside the selected months, do not appear. Check the invoice's tax and date.

Where are credit notes in GSTR-1?

In the Sale Return tab of the GSTR 1 report.
