How to create a sale order in Vyapar
A sale order records what a customer has ordered and when you promised to deliver, before you bill. It does not reduce stock. When the goods go out, convert the order into an invoice in one click.

Before you start
- Sale/Purchase Order turned on in Settings > General > More Transactions (on by default).
1Open Sale > Sale Order
In the sidebar click Sale, then the + next to Sale Order.
2Choose party and due date
Pick the customer in Party. Vyapar sets the Order No. and Order Date. Set the Due Date to the date you promised delivery.
3Add items
Add the ordered items and QTY. Price and GST fill in from the item, just like an invoice.
4Record any advance
If the customer paid an advance, tick Advance amount and enter it. The Balance shows what is still due.
5Save and share
Click Save. The Sale Order preview shows the order number, due date and items; share it with the customer as confirmation.
6Track and convert orders
Sale > Sale Order lists all orders with total, balance and status such as Order Overdue. Click CONVERT TO SALE when you deliver, or use Bulk Convert To Sale to combine several orders into one invoice.
Good to know
- Orders do not change stock until converted to a sale.
- The ONLINE ORDERS tab shows orders from your Vyapar online store.
- Advance amounts carry over to the invoice when you convert.

What is a sale order in Vyapar?
A record of a customer's confirmed order with a delivery due date, created before the invoice. It can be converted into a sale invoice later.
Does a sale order reduce stock?
No. Stock changes only when the order is converted to a sale.
How do I convert a sale order to an invoice?
Open Sale > Sale Order and click CONVERT TO SALE on the order, then save the invoice.
Can I combine several orders into one invoice?
Yes. Use Bulk Convert To Sale in the sale order list.
